A PSYCHIATRIST with experience at top-security hospitals is one of two new clinicians to join the forensic service team at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Ray Travers is the new clinical director, and Louise Haggar has recently taken on the role of consultant clinical psychologist in the Trust’s forensic division.
Dr Travers’ previous positions have included clinical director of the national high secure women’s healthcare service at Rampton Hospital, Notts, and consultant forensic psychiatrist at Ashworth Hospital, Merseyside.
He has a background in specialist forensic service development and his interests include mentally disordered individuals with complex presentations and personality disorders.
Dr Travers said: “RDaSH has an excellent community infrastructure and is well placed to develop homely community options in collaboration with service users.”
Louise Haggar has worked in secure services for men with learning disabilities and complex needs.
Her move to RDaSH reflects her commitment to ‘the development of centres of excellence for people with learning disabilities who need secure care’.
