Effective new anti-smoking measures

editorial image

A new North Lincs council initiative has helped to bring down the numbers of women who smoke during pregnancy substantially.

Over five years the number of women in this area who light up while expecting a baby has dropped from 26 per cent to 15.7 per cent.

This improvement, to help prevent many conditions, is seen to be the result of North Lincolnshire’s Tobacco Control Strategy and the work done by the council’s Smoking in Pregnancy Development Worker.
