Families whose loved ones are being cared for on the gynaecology ward at Doncaster Royal Infirmary are set to benefit from improved visiting facilities.
The improvements are thanks to the generosity of the hospital’s cricket league and other donors.
Members of the Doncaster Infirmary Cricket League have donated £500 towards refurbishment of the ward’s family room so that patients’ relatives have access to a kitchen, lounge area and bathroom.
The cricket league’s donation means the ward has now reached its initial £10,000 target. The cricket league was formed in the 1920s so staff could play cricket at DRI and St Catherine’s Hospital.
