It’s a highlight of Ladies’ Day at the St Leger every year - the best dressed competition.

This year, the hotly contested competition was won by Doncaster’s Jayne Walker-Ellis.

The 40-year-old sales manager teamed a stylish monochrome dress with an ornate and striking black and white hatinator.

A trip for two to New York courtesy of DFS was among Jayne’s haul of prizes, as was a one year’s Premier Membership at Nuffield Health Doncaster, a Mercedes car for the weekend and tickets to London Fashion Week, courtesy of JCT 600, and much more.

Doncaster ladies did the town proud with third place going to Bentley’s Cherrie-Leigh Pearman wearing an eye-catching embellished cream number.

Barnsley Fashion designer, Katie Newsam, impressed the judges to take second place with a cream dress with floral detailing and a full petticoat.

Thousands of the regions women also turned out in stunning ensembles for this year’s DFS ladies day.

Mark Spincer, managing director of Doncaster Racecourse, said he was ‘overwhelmed’ by today’s attendance.
