SWIMMERS in Adwick have been making a splash after being awarded grants to buy new equipment.

Adwick Amateur Swimming Club was awarded £2,000 from the Co-op and another £500 through the North Doncaster Development Trust micro grants programme to spend on new racing lane ropes.

The grants mean the club, which is run by volunteers, can now continue to run competitions and hold training at Adwick Leisure Centre in Welfare Road.

Joanna Butterworth from the club, said: “We did raffles and bag packing to raise the rest of the money as the ropes cost £560 each - they are very expensive.”
