The new Flying Scotsman Health Centre in Doncaster could be affected by the strike action along with other GP practices and hospitals.

PATIENTS are being reminded that their family doctor practice may be taking part in a national day of action today, so routine appointments may be cancelled.

NHS Doncaster is advising patients to check with their practice first, as GPs who take part in the British Medical Association campaign will only be seeing patients with urgent and emergency conditions on the day.

It is understood that 20 operations at Doncaster Royal Infirmary have been cancelled as a result.

GP surgeries will remain open and fully-staffed for urgent patients and this action affects only doctors.

Other routine clinics run by other healthcare professionals may be operating as normal, a NHS Doncaster spokesman said.
