A CHARITY golf day proved to be a ‘hole’ lot of fun for a group of keen fundraisers.
Golfers from all over the borough were invited to tee-off in aid of Doncaster charity Aurora and in turn managed to raise over £3,000.
The annual event is organised by the Round Table Doncaster 7 group and each year includes an 18-hole tournament, two-course meal and charity auction at Doncaster Golf Club based in Bawtry Road, Bessacarr.
Peter Bone, chairman of Doncaster Round Table, said: “The event was brilliant, it went so well and we had about 80 to 85 golfers taking part.
“Aurora is a great charity and one we were more than happy to support as a group.
“We’d just like to thank everyone who took part in the day, the attendance was fantastic and we’re delighted with how much we’ve raised.”
The Doncaster branch of the Round Table holds several fundraisers each year as well as sports and social events and the chance of personal development training.
The group chose to raise money for Aurora which has two bases in Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Mexborough Montagu Hospital which offer cancer patients with holistic treatments and other therapies.
