A FORMER Advertising Manager of the South Yorkshire Times, Desmond Lee has died aged 89. Mr Lee, who worked at the newspaper’s Station Road headquarters for many years in the 1960s and 70s, died following a long illness on March 4 at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Mr Lee, who retired in 1985 and lived latterly in Edenthorpe, is survived by his daughter Heather, and four grandchildren.
Heather said: ”My father will be very sadly missed by us all. He was very well known by his colleagues at the Times.
“I am sure he will be remembered by many in the business community of Mexborough and the Dearne, who worked with him during his career.”
A funeral was held on Wednesday March 16 at Rosehill Crematorium.
