A PROJECT to help feed needy people and encourage them to eat well is to kick off tomorrow.

The Intake Foodbank will launch officially at 45 Montrose Avenue, Intake, from 11am to 1pm on Friday with further meetings at the same time every Friday when people will be able to purchase an ‘eat well food box’ at a subsidised price of £2.50.

The project is a partnership between a string of local groups and agencies and boxes are on a limited basis.

The food bank, run by the Food Aware Community Interest Company, takes surplus food from supermarkets and other suppliers and then helps those in need to put dinner on the table.

For more information about the project email Martin Haythorne at martin@genmedia.co.uk, visit www.foodawarecic.org.uk, or call Kelly Hicks on 07908 616182.
