RACE goers will be flocking to Doncaster this weekend for the first flat meeting of the season.
Doncaster Racecourse is gearing up to stage one of the racing highlights of the year, the William Hill Lincoln meeting.
Kicking off on Saturday, the two-day festival is set to attract a healthy line-up of horses and thousands of punters, hot on the heels of the Cheltenham Festival.
Mark Spincer, managing director of the Town Moor course said: “The Lincoln, which officially marks the start of the flat season, is always a hugely popular meeting, and this year’s raceday looks set to be no exception.
“We’ve a strong line up of horses entered over the two days and it is shaping up to be a really thrilling day of racing to get the flat season underway.”
Mr Spincer added: “There is always huge advance demand for our feature racedays. After all of the excitement of the Cheltenham Festival, we’re expecting Lincoln to be a busy meeting, so it will be more important than ever to book early.”
Gates open from midday on both days with with the first of Saturday’s seven races starting at 2pm. Sunday’s action gets underway at 2.10pm.
