1 SATURDAY NIGHT TAKEAWAY

Everyone’s favourite presenting duo, Ant and Dec, are back on the road again with their Saturday Night Roadshow tour, which stops of in the region this week. Irish dance sensation Riverdance will showcase a spectacular performance at every show.

Ashley Roberts will host a very special Ant vs Dec contest. The duo will also be joined by celebrity guest announcers and one lucky audience member will get the chance to Win the Ads where prizes include a Suzuki Swit car.

2 WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

Get set for a really wild time with a safari night at the Doncaster-based Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

Attractions on the night will include talks and feeding time with many of the parks weird and wonderful creatures, including meerkats, lemurs, squirrel monkeys and more.

There will also be entertainment from Take That tribute band, Rule The World, who are set to end the summer evening of fun with a bangless firework finale.

3 TEMPTING THEATRE

Join the Pantaloons Theatre Company on a voyage to an enchanted island full of adventure, romance, magic and monsters for a production of The Tempest, which comes to Sheffield this week.

The critically-acclaimed Pantaloons put their own unique – and hilarious – twist on Shakepeare’s tale of shipwrecks, sorcerers and silly servants.

Expect music and mayhem, poetry and puppetry in one of the Bard’s best-loved plays – in the open-air where it belongs at Sheffield’s picturesque Botanical Gardens, which provides a perfect backdrop.

4 LOSING THE PLOT

Step back in time with an afternoon of Edwardian games this week, in the grounds of the stately Brodsworth Hall.

Tell the kids to leave their computer games and mobile phones at home, and let them get their hands on games such as croquet, skittles, giant chess and many more.

While the children play, the grown ups can take in Brodsworth’s stunning restored Victorian Gardens and then treat the family to an ice cream from the tea room.

5 WEST END GOES EAST

National Theatre Live comes to The Junction in Goole with an incredible West End Play

Bill Nighy features in the highly anticipated production of David Hare’s Skylight, directed by Stephen Daldry, broadcast live from the West End by National Theatre Live.

On a bitterly cold London evening, schoolteacher Kyra Hollis (Carey Mulligan) receives an unexpected visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant (Bill Nighy), a successful and charismatic restaurateur whose wife has recently died.

As the evening progresses, the two attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.
