Conisbrough Christmas Market will bring a host of festive activities and goodies to the village centre this weekend.

From 10am until 4pm on Saturday, Church Street will be closed to traffic for everyone to enjoy the market in safety.

There will be a range of market stalls selling paintings, handbags, clothing, slate products, books, baby clothes, toys, gift wrap and cards, there will be hot and cold festive food available, crafts and a Santa’s Grotto.

There will also be live music and singing around the village centre Christmas tree throughout the day.

The St Peter’s Church band will play from 10am, followed by characters from the hit Disney film Frozen at 10.30am and then members of The Musical Notes singing group will sing from 11am.

Solo artists Darren Eastell and Sam Wright will perform an acoustic set each at 11.30am and 1pm respectively to help promote next year’s Conisbrough Music Festival.

St Peter’s Family Choir will be in full swing at noon and the St Peter’s Church band will be completing the line up from 1.30pm. Elsewhere, there will be a Christingle in St Peter’s Church at 4pm.

Due to the road closure, buses are being re-routed via Elm Green Lane from Doncaster and High Street on the journey back. Car parking is available at the library, Ivanhoe Centre, the doctor’s surgery on Gardens Lane and the castle car park.
