Forget the chicken crossing the road, a family of ducks took on that role as they caused a queue of traffic in Doncaster today.

Caring motorists applied the brakes near to the Shaw Lane industrial estate roundabout as a mother duck led her flurry of around 12 little ducklings safely over the road at around 11am today.

Reporter Kate Mason was one of those caught in the traffic near to Sandall Park.

“At first I thought there had been an accident because all of the traffic had come to a standstill,” she said.

“But then I saw this family of ducks crossing, it was really cute to see. I’m glad everyone stopped for them and that they’re okay.”

The family of ducks made it safely across and no traffic accidents were caused, the Free Press understands.
