The leader of North Lincolnshire Council has insisted the authority will do all it can to protect frontline services following the announcement of further Government cuts.
Epworth councillor Liz Redfern was speaking after the spending review for 2015/16 was revealed by Chancellor George Osborne.
The review will see a cut of ten per cent to the council resource budget to come into effect after the next general election.
Coun Redfern said today council officers were still working out specifically what the cuts would mean for North Lincolnshire Council and the Isle.
She added; “It is too early at this stage to say how we can move forward. We are still working through the finer details of it.
“But these are tough times and we will be doing all we can to protect services and in particular businesses because we need to help stimulate growth.
“The Government is taking necessary steps to help economic recovery.”
