Epworth band The Torn are dining out on their latest success after their music was included on a cookery show featuring Jamie Oliver.
sThe four-piece were contacted by the celebrity chef’s Food Tube team who asked if they could use an original song by the band ‘A Thousand Leeches’ in a forthcoming video after the song had caught Jamie’s attention.
The video, entitled ‘How To Build A Reverse-Flow Smoker’, is one of a series of short films which have ben uploaded to Jamie’s YouTube channel.
The clip features the character DJ BBQ who gives tips on cooking outdoors and features a cameo appearance from Jamie himself. A second video, called ‘The Ultimate Spare Ribs’, also features the same song. Both videos have had more than 100, 000 views.
Band members Damian Dalton-Smith – brother of actress Sheridan Smith – Nick Berry, Tay Taylor and Ben Mullins are all aged in their 20s and 30s.
Manager Doug Downes said: “We are really that Jamie decided to use some of the band’s music.”
