Parks plea from charity

A DONCASTER charity is urging parents to turn to the countryside to keep their children occupied during the school holidays.

Doncaster based British Trust for Conservation Volunteers says helping conservation work, growing food in gardens or trips to the park are a cheap way of keeping youngsters entertained.

John Thompson, BTCV Project Officer in South Yorkshire, said: “Doncaster has some fabulous green space and summer’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy it.”

“Why spend tons of money on expensive activities when you can have just as much fun right here on your doorstep for free? And you’ll not only be helping your pockets but helping the environment too.”
