Barnsley to look its best

BARNSLEY will be looking its best today as summer judging for the Yorkshire in Bloom contest takes place in the town.

Judges Steve Mellard and Deborah Wright will be visiting the town centre, Shaw Lane Allotments, Churchfield Peace Gardens, Wilthorpe Junior School, Barnsley Hospice, Redbrooke sheltered housing and Rowland Road shop, where they will meet the council’s graffiti removal team.

Later they will visit Cannon Hall to view the magnificent front lawns and walled gardens.

While at the hall they will meet the Mayor of Barnsley Coun Karen Dyson, and consort Martin Dyson.

During the afternoon the judges will be taken to Worsbrough Mill and Country Park, Pacers Fields, the crematorium, Central Park and Kendray Hospital.
