Entering the lions’ den for Comic Relief appeal
The rescued lions are now happy in their new home at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
IT’S your chance to walk into the lions’ den...
Bosses at Yorkshire Wildlife Park are planning to raise money for Comic Relief by letting people sleep in the lions’ enclosure for a minimum sponsorship of £200.
Four people will be allowed into the enclosure, and will have only a metal grid between them and the big cats at the Branton tourist attraction.
Park director Cheryl Williams said she had been grateful for the support the public had shown for the lions when the park rescued them from a zoo in Romania and wanted to help with an appeal.
She said: “It only seems right that the lions help us to raise money for such a good cause as Comic Relief.”
The sponsored sleepover will take place in the week before Comic Relief on March 15. Log onto Yorkshire Wildlife Park to enter.
