SLIDESHOW: Carcroft school centenary

A torrential downpour of rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the dozens of people who turned out to celebrate Carcroft Primary School’s 100th anniversary last weekend.

To mark the occasion, pupils from years five and six performed the school’s song, and a jigsaw featuring activities from throughout the school’s history was unveiled.

Office manager at Carcroft Primary School, Michelle Wilcox said the anniversary event had been a great success.

She said: “It was very well attended and everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves.

Lots of people from the community turned out and we managed to raise quite a lot for the school from various activities like the teddy tombola. We had support from local businesses like Wood’s butchers who donated prizes.”
