A NEW school of rock is drumming up plenty of support at Rawmarsh. Schoolkids of all ages are rocking down on a weekly basis to the RockSchool initiative at the town’s High Street Centre.
The musicians and singers were part of the successful RAWFusion event, and featured at a gig to raise cash for fallen local soldier James Leverett.
RockSchool runs as a scheme within Activate! – a charity-based organisation that offers youth club type sessions with fund-raising, trips, arts and crafts and music.
Organiser Rachel Gallagher said: “It’s great to see a mixed group of people all working together and doing something creative and productive... and currently their enthusiasm is brimming!”
Activate! is open to local four to 19-year-olds, but volunteers of any age are welcome at the centre.
