Pupils get busy

MEXBOROUGH School pupils got some hands-on experience at a skills roadshow.

A total of fifty Year 10 students were invited to Dearne Valley College to sample vocational activities in the sports hall.

They took part in three 45-minute workshops sampling brickwork, joinery, sport, public services, beauty, catering and hospitality.

College Information Officer Mark Hepworth said: “The DVC Skills Roadshow is designed to be delivered at DVC or on local feeder schools premises and involves workshops which are interactive, practical and hands on for years nine to 11.”

A spokesman for Mexborough School added: “I would like to thank DVC for providing our Year 10 vocational students with an enjoyable and informative event”.

Any school interested in the DVC Skills Roadshow is asked to contact Mark Hepworth.
