PUPILS at the new Rowena Academy have been busy making history - by burying it.

Following the official opening of the academy, pupils voted for items to fill a time capsule, that was then buried in the school grounds.

Included in the capsule were old and new uniforms and book bags, extracts from headteachers’ log books dating back to the 1940s, and DVDs showing school events.

Members of the Academy council gathered the items, then Coun Christine Mills dropped by to help with the digging.
