Libraries need teen helpers

AFRAID of being bored during the summer holidays! Here’s the answer....

Friendly teens are needed to help with summer challenges in their local libraries.

Rotherham Library Service needs helpers for a scheme it runs across the area during the long school break.

Volunteers aged 14 to 19 can help with a variety of jobs, from registering kids on to the summer reading challenge, to listening to their views, or supporting staff with activities.

If you are a teen with spare time, then helping with the reading scheme would allow you to meet new friends, build your confidence and gain valuable skills and experience for future employment or further education.

Anyone interested should apply either by asking directly in any local Rotherham Library or by checking the web site at www.rotherham.gov.uk/libraries.

As this volunteering involves work with children a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check will have to be made on all applicants aged over 16.
