THORNE’S trinity Academy has seen a rise of a staggering 76.1 per cent in the number of students gaining five or more A*-C grades since the school opened seven years ago.

The Academy’s greatest success this year was Imogen Raper-Linley who achieved a record-breaking number of grades for the school with 12 A*s and three As.

Imogen is staying on at the Academy to do her A Levels so she can study veterinary science at Liverpool or Glasgow.

The Academy’s science department achieved a 100 per cent pass rate at A*-C level with half of all the chemistry students reaching at least an A grade.

Principal Ian Brew said: “In the same year that Trinity Academy was judged to be an outstanding school by OFSTED, our studnets have really lived up to that top grading with this set of GCSE results.

“They are the best ever and prove that we have continued to build upon the astonishing improvements made since the academy opened in 2005.”
