A FAILING Rotherham primary school is fighting back after a new inspection found significant progress had been made.
Maltby Redwood Junior and Infant School was placed in special measures in January 2010 and has received a check-up visit for the second time.
Headteacher David Horrigan said: “I am very proud to say that we have been judged as having made good progress in all the key areas we are focusing on.
“This progress represents a huge effort on the part of our children, but also the flowering of many of the strategies we have put in place over the last two years.”
The inspectors praised the school’s new behaviour code and said the pupils were gaining in confidence as their work improved.
