Blue was the colour - but the game was all about raising cash for a very worthy cause for students at De Warenne Academy, Conisbrough.

As part of their Prince’s Trust activity, and to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Y10 kids got blue-ming busy and whipped up enthusiasm for their purposeful project throughout the school.

They designed and produced posters and leaflets for their planned ‘Blue Day’ - and the ideas came flooding in from both students and staff for ways to create blue merchandise and fundraise..

The day was a great success with students donating sums to wear blue clothing, blue shoes and blue ribbons. They carried and sold blue bags, and even made blue buns and biscuits that were sold along with other coloured goodies.

A total of £350 was raised in one day, and with additional cash from a drama raffle and a Santa hat fundraiser before the holidays, a sum total of £450 will now be presented to Bluebell Wood representatives.
