A CHARITY concert has raised £700 for the Coldstream Guards Trust.

The event at the Wheatley Working Mens Club was attended by members of the guard, and featured performances by singers Chris Carr and Nik Powers who sang on the night for free.

All money raised from the concert and auction will go to supporting members of the Coldstream Guards and Rifles who are on tour in Afghanistan.

The night attracted a number of sponsors including Sweeney Bobz hairdresser, Pat Queen’s Meats, Katherine Marie Beauty Therapist and Andrew’s Golden Cod.

On the night there was also a disco and other fundraising activities.

The money will be presented to representatives from the Coldstream Guards this week
