Doncaster is set for a jobs boost as BT announces a recruitment drive in the borough.
The telecommunications firm says will be recruiting a further 30 staff in the borough as part of a bid to transform customer service.
The announcement follows a recruitment drive which has already filled around 80 contact centre posts since April last year.
The new jobs will be mainly sales roles in BT customer service with recruiters keen to attract applicants from across Doncaster and South Yorkshire. They are the latest phase in abid by BT’s Consumer division to answer 90 per cent of calls in the UK and Ireland. BT is one of the Yorkshire’s largest private sector employers with nearly 6,600 employees based in the region, of which around 2,900 are based in South Yorkshire.

Tom Keeney, chairman of BT’s regional board in Yorkshire and the Humber, added: “We have been impressed with the high quality of our Doncaster recruits. They show great enthusiasm and a determination to provide customers with a first class service.
“Since April last year, we have recruited around 80 people at our Doncaster contact centre, as part of our commitment to provide the best possible service for our customers. Following on from that success, we are now looking for a further 30 people to join us.”
An open evening will be held at BT’s Doncaster Contact Centre on Wilmington Drive1 on Monday March 27 from 6pm to 8pm.
