Doncaster pop heartthrob Louis Tomlinson has handed the Children’s Air Ambulance a boost.
The service found itself inundated with new followers on Twitter thanks to support from the One Direction singer
The charity’s followers, went up from 1,708 to over 33,000 almost overnight, after Louis, from Bessacarr, tweeted: “Please follow @childrensairamb They do wonderful work”.
Faye Wilson, fundraising manager in Yorkshire for The Children’s Air Ambulance, said: “It’s almost impossible not to have heard of One Direction so we’re incredibly excited and grateful that Louis took some time out of his no doubt busy schedule to express his support for our valuable cause! “We’re really enjoying telling all of our new followers about our vital work and engaging them in our charity; this has opened up our charity to a whole new audience of people and what’s brilliant to see is how much they really seem to understand the importance of our work.”
