Staff at Holiday Inn Doncaster have raised £1000 in aid of Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

The team had hoped to raise the sum over a 12 month period but they managed to reach their target in just a few weeks.

The money was raised through a series of raffles and party nights and will go towards the hospital’s ‘Make it Better’ appeal, which aims to transform it into a world class facility that will benefit generations of young patients.

Hotel manager Nigel Dibb said: “We are always pleased to pledge our support to local charities such as The Children’s Hospital Charity, and The Children’s Hospital in Sheffield is of course a facility that we couldn’t possibly be without.

“It’s our pleasure to help play our part in creating a new state of the art bedroom that will help so many poorly children to recover.”

The team are joined in their fundraising efforts by fellow members of Hospitality Sheffield, a consortium of hotels and venues from across South Yorkshire, which is collectively aiming to raise £25,000 to help fund the facility.
