Doncaster firefighters were called out to the following incidents over the New Year.

Scawsby: Firefighters from Adwick were called to a car blaze in Scawsby Lane at 1am on New Year’s Day. The make of the car was unknown and the cause of the fire has been logged as deliberate.

Bentley: Firefighters attended a garden fence fire at a house in New Street at 8.30pm on New Year’s Day. Adwick station attended and managed to put the fire out before it spread. Firefighters were on the scene around 15 minutes.

Wheatley Hills: Residents raised the alarm after a candle set some skirting board alight in a property in Cross Ways north around 10.20pm on New Year’s Day. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and checked the fire had not spread to the wall cavity. The cause was logged as accidental.

Wheatley: A Peugeot 207 was destroyed in a fire in Liverpool Avenue at 2.30am this morning (Friday January 2). The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
