A FREE day of life-saving classes is taking place at the Dearne Valley Leisure Centre on June 25. The practical classes for children and adults, have been organised by the Royal Life Saving Society’s South Yorkshire branch. The classes run from 2-6pm. A DARTS marathon held by the Horse and Jockey Ladies’ team raised over £600 for Help the Heroes and local charities. The bumper fundraiser took place on May 28 and featured appearances from Dennis Priestley and Dean Winstanley.

This year’s Beanfest, staged annually for charity in memory of Rob Crook (Bean), who lost his life in a car crash, takes place on July 2. The Star Fest will take place on August 13.
