CONISBROUGH

The new Luncheon Club at the Ivanhoe Centre has been hailed as a great success and the next session will take place on July 6 at 12.30pm. Anyone interested is advised to book a place by visiting the centre or calling 01709 860764.

THURNSCOE Male Voice Choir is performing at St Peter’s Church Hall on July 15. Tickets on sale, £5, are available from the weekly coffee mornings on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The next police PACT meeting takes place on Tuesday, July 12, at the Ivanhoe Centre, Conisbrough, at 7pm.

Stallholder Jean Whitehead has now raised £1,000 for Macmillan Nurses through raffle ticket sales and donations and has now received a certificate for her achievements.

A table-top sale takes place at the Harrogate Drive centre on Friday from 10am-1pm.

The Denaby Carnival will take place on August 20 at the Flower Park.

All Saints’ Church is holds a weekly coffee morning on Wednesdays from 10am-noon with bacon sandwiches and a bring-and-buy stall.

RAWMARSH

PARKGATE-based Steps Productions will perform Annie Warbucks (the sequel to the original orphan Annie) at Rotherham Civic Theatre from July 18 to 20.

A SCOOTER hire scheme is now operating at Parkgate’s Retail World. This has been built up by disabled volunteers over nine months, after a successful pilot scheme in June, July and August last year. Ability Shopper opened on June 24 with collections from Unit 1, Stone Row Way Rotherham Rd, Parkgate.

BEANFEST, an all day Rock/Metal/Indie music festival on July 2, has been organised by local musicians who lost their best friend Rob “Bean” Crook in January last year aged just 23. The event at the Star Inn, Rawmarsh Hill, is free but there will be bucket collections to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. It runs from midday to midnight, featuring many South Yorkshire bands – and a few national surprises.
