Denaby Market holds twice-weekly car boot sales. The stalls are £7 and refreshments are served all day. If you would like to rid yourself of your unwanted goods, and make yourself a bit of pocket money, just go along early in the morning and set up stall. No booking needed.

DENABY and Conisbrough Charity fund raisers. Stars In Our Eyes are seeking new singers, to join their roadshows. If you or some one you know can sing, go along to their rehearsals at Denaby Main ‘Stute, on Wednesday evenings, from 8pm, or contact organiser Yvonne, on 01709 869734. The “Stars” are now close to having raised £1m for charity.

AVA Lunch Community Cafe is open at Mexborough Baptist Church on Wednesdays from noon to 1.30pm.

A COFFEE morning is held at the Congregational Church every Saturday morning from 9.30-11.30am. The church room is available for hire.

A RE-ENACTMENT Group meets at Bank Street Methodist Church on Wednesday at 7.30pm. South Yorkshire Musical Comedy Society meets on Tuesday and Friday at 7pm. The Beavers Club meets on Tuesday at 5.30pm, Cubs on Wednesday at 5.45pm and Scouts on Thursday at 7.45pm. Girls’ Brigade meets on Thursdays at 6pm. Coffee morning on Saturday from 10am to noon. The parent and toddler group meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30-11am.

RAWMARSH

RAWMARSH Children’s Centre will stage a fundraising fashion show at the Fitzwilliam Arms, Parkgate, on the evening of July 19. Tickets priced £2 are available from the Children’s Centre.

UP to nine jobs will be created by the opening of a new Asda store on Taylors Lane, Parkgate. The former Netto store will close at the end of this month, to re-open as an Asda facility on August 15. Existing employees will remain in post, and the new supermarket will house PayPoint, lottery and cash machines.

RAWMARSH Library runs IT classes for the computer-shy on Mondays at 10am and Thursdays at 5pm. Rhyme Time takes place at 11am on Fridays and is free to kids under five years. A readers’ group meets on a monthly basis - contact the library for details.
