SWINTON

A BIBLE study and prayer meeting will be held at Bethany Evangelical Church tonight, Thursday, at 7.30pm.

A Knit and Natter session will be held at the church on Friday from 1 - 3pm. The Ladies Group will hold a prayer meeting on Tuesday at 9.45am. Toddlers have their play and activities session on Wednesday at 9.45am. The next coffee morning is on Thursday, February 3, at 10.30am.

A COFFEE morning and book corner will be held at St. John’s Methodist Church on Saturday from 10.30am. Open House on Wednesday from 10am to 3.30pm, with the sisterhood meeting at 1.45pm. The prayer meeting will be held at the home of Cath and Peter Drabble on Wednesday from 7-8pm.

CONISBROUGH

YVONNE Gumersall, the manager of the Old Road Training Centre, has retired aged 58 with a party at the centre last week. She has worked at the centre since 1985 and was the longest-serving member of staff.

CONISBROUGH Library is currently holding a book sale with all proceeds going to local charities. The sale is being held upstairs.

A MEDIUMSHIP night takes place at Cromwell’s pub on Church Street, every Thursday night at 7pm, for charity. Contact Christine on 01709 895530 for further details.

THE Conisbrough Community Association will hold their Annual General Meeting at the Ivanhoe Centre on Tuesday, February 1 at 7.30pm.

TICKETS are now available for re-arranged Christmas concert from The Musical Notes and Strata Brass after the last minute bad weather cancellation. It will now take place without the Christmas element and with a new title “Another Opening Another Show”, on Saturday, February 5 at the Ivanhoe Centre at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 from the Community Office.

THE Ivanhoe Centre Mums and Tots group are to hold a half term disco on Monday, February 21 at 9am. Tickets £2 per child, and will include pop and crisps.

MEXBOROUGH

THE Parents and Toddlers’ Group meets weekly at Bank Street Methodist Church on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30-11am. Coffee morning on Saturday from 10am to noon. Girls Brigade is on Thursday at 6pm.

COFFEE morning is held at the Congregational Church every Saturday morning from 9.30-11.30am.
