CONISBROUGH

PLANS to mark the 100th anniversary next year of the Cadeby Main Explosion are now underway. A new committee has formed to plan a series of events to mark the disaster. They are holding their next meeting at the Denaby and Cadeby Miners Welfare on Tuesday, (February 22) at 7pm and would like anyone interested to attended. For more information, contact committee chair, Jeff Lovell.

CHRISTINE’S nearly new sale takes place at The Place centre on Friday (February 18) from 10am-noon. All porceeds go to The Place.

CONISBROUGH and Denaby Veterans Society, are holding a social evening at the Castle Club Wednesday (February 23), at 7.30pm. You do not have to be a member of the group to attend; there will be entertainment along with a pea And pie supper.

RAWMARSH

BUMPS and Babes group meets Tuesdays from 1.30pm to 3pm at Rawmarsh Children’s Centre for babies up to a year old and their mums, dads or carers. Parents to be welcomed too.

ENJOY a coffee and chat on Saturday mornings from 10am to noon at the Manor Farm TARA hub on Central Drive. All proceeds to TARA funds.

A BIRD-BOX bulding activity takes place on February 25 from 1pm to 3pm at Rosehill Park. Open to all, cost £2.50 per bird box, but all children must be accompanied.

SWINTON

THERE will be a Bible Study and Prayer Meeting tonight, Thursday, at Bethany Evangelical Church at 7.30pm. The Knit and Natter group meet in the church tomorrow, Friday, at 1-3pm. The Ladies Group meet for a Prayer Meeting on Tuesday Morning at 9.45am. The Toddlers Group are taking a break for half-term. The next session will be on Wednesday, March 2, at 9.45am.

A CLOTHES sale will take place at St Margaret’s Church Hall on Saturday, March 5, at 10am. The next coffee morning will be in the church hall on Saturday, March 19, at 10am. The Prayer and Fellowship Group will meet in the Lady Chapel on Tuesday, February 22, at 10.30am. Church members will be attending Swinton Lodge and Potteries Court, on Wednesday, February 23, on their monthly prayer and singing visit, following a Eucharist service in the Lady Chapel. There will be a meeting in churcH, on Monday, February 28, at 7pm to organise the Annual Garden Party.

MEMBERS of St John’s Methodist Church will be attending the Girls Allowed meeting today, Thursday, at the home of Sandra Tazer at 7.15pm.
