Coffee mornings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am to noon, and on Wednesdays from 2-5pm for table games at the Harrogate Drive Community Centre. There will also be a bric-a-brac sale at the centre this Saturday from 10am-1pm with home-made cakes and hot drinks available.

All Saints Church is asking for old clothing which they are using for a new fundraising venture. They have a collection bin outside the church every Wednesday morning and accept children’s clothing in any state.

MEXBOROUGH

AVA Lunch Community Cafe is open at Mexborough Baptist Church on Wednesdays, noon- 1.30pm.

COFFEE morning is held at the Congregational Church every Saturday morning from 9.30-11.30am.

A RE-ENACTMENT Group meets at Bank Street Methodist Church on Wednesday at 7.30pm. South Yorkshire Musical Comedy Society meets on Tuesday and Friday at 7pm. The Beavers Club meets on Tuesday at 5.30pm, Cubs on Wednesday at 5.45pm and Scouts on Thursday at 7.45pm. Girls’ Brigade meets on Thursday at 6pm. Coffee morning on Saturday from 10am to noon. The parent and toddler group meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30-11am.

RAWMARSH

ACOUSTIC Rotherham, the hiring fair, takes place at the Queen’s, Rawmarsh, from 1pm on April 17.

WORK on the Rawmarsh Project starts this month and will go on for nine months, at a cost of £1.7 million. Over 13 kilometres of gas pipe work will be replaced, beginning with the Sandhill area. The second phase will be Walker Place followed by Willow Avenue and Kilnhurst Road. Affected residents will receive letters from National Grid 10 days before work begins. Any interruption to supply should last no longer than one day.

A CHARITY Elvis Tribute night will take place at the Fitzwilliam Arms Hotel, Parkgate, on April 15 from 7.30pm. Along with the Elvis Tribute will be a disco and pie and peas supper. Tickets £12.50 each with proceeds to Age UK Rotherham’s Advice and Information Service for Older People.
