The next PACT meeting with local police takes place at The Ivanhoe Centre, Conisbrough, on Tuesday (March 8) at 7pm.

ALL Saint’s Church is asking for old clothing which they are using for a new fundraising venture. They have a collection bin outside the church every Wednesday morning and accept clothing in any state.

DENABY Children’s Centre are holding a special men’s event for dads, grandads, uncles and brothers who are related to a child under 13. The centre is hosting an evening of fun and games on Thusday, March 10. For more information, call 01709 770099.

Denaby market stallholder Jean Whitehead is now collecting for the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice charity. Over the last three years, Jean has raised thousands of pounds by selling prize draw tickets, along with bric-a-brac, on her stall every Wednesday and Sunday morning. She recently donated £500 to Cancer Research after raising £350 on the stall and another £150 from fundraising with her friends. Anyone wishing to donate, see Jean at the stall.

SWINTON

A CLOTHES and bric-a-brac sale will be held in St Margaret’s Church Hall on Saturday, March 5, at 10am in aid of church funds. Church members will celebrate the Womens World Day of Prayer at Bank Street Methodist Church in Mexborough. Plans are being made for a Pilgrimage to Walsingham from July 6 to 8. During the pilgrimage, Father Michael will offer a mass of Our Lady and a mass of requiem. The Tots and Toddlers Praise and Play Group will meet at St. Margaret’s Parish Church on Tuesday, March 8, from 1-2.30pm. There will be a Lent discussion and prayer group meeting every Tuesday during Lent in the Lady chapel at 7.30pm.

A COFFEE morning will be held this morning, Thursday, at Bethany Evangelical Church at 10.30am. The Bible Study and prayer meeting will follow tonight at 7.30pm. The ladies group meet for a prayer meeting on Tuesday at 9.45am. The ‘Toddlers’ play and activities session is on Wednesday at 9.45am.

ROYAL Dragoon Guards DVDs featuring the late James Leverett are on sale at the Star Inn along with armbands; proceeds to the Dragoons’ and Army Veterans’ funds.

THE Rawmarsh Mashers are appearing at this week’s Rotherham Beer and Music Festival – on until Saturday at Magna.
