BOLTON

AFTER School Clubs at Highgate School are: Monday: Cheerleading; Tuesday: Strictly Come Dancing, Art, IT, Baking, Football, Construction and Board Games; Wednesday: Street Dance; Thursday: Sewing, Choir, Football, Baking, Sports Active and Fashion Design. Year 6 pupils are currently on a residential trip at Kingswood Activity Centre in Norfolk. On Saturday the school football team are representing South Yorkshire in tournament at Leeds.

PARENTS and children under the age of four are invited to attend a nursery rhyme workshop at Lacewood Primary School on Wednesdays from 8.30-9.30am during term times. The workshops are in collaboration with Creative Partnerships. Details from the school office.

AFTER School clubs at Lacewood Primary School include: Sports Multi Skills on Mondays, Gymnastics on Tuesdays, Cheer Leading on Wednesdays, Lets Get Cooking and Ballroom Dancing on Thursdays. Sports and multi skills activities also take place Tuesday to Thursday mornings. Class photos were taken yesterday (Wednesday). Tomorrow Linden and Beech Classes are having a trip to Conisbrough Castle. Phonic Fun sessions are being held throughout the school on Monday and there will be a Let’s Cook Day throughout the school next Thursday.

ATTENDANCE awards for the week ending February 18 were presented to Year 6 (100%) and Year 2 (98%) at Heather Garth Primary School. On Wednesday, March 23 Year 5 are having a trip to Eureka at Halifax.

A COFFEE morning is held at Heather Garth Primary School every Wednesday from 8.30am during term times, proceeds to school funds.

BOLTON Methodist Knit and Natter Group will meet on Wednesday from 2-4pm.

WOMBWELL

COFFEE mornings with book sales take place at the Operatic Centre from 9.30am to noon on Saturdays for Society funds.

GET on song with the Wombwell Mixed Voice Choir from 6.30pm each Monday at Summer Lane Methodist church.

THURNSCOE

THURNSCOE’S Local History Group meets at 10am every Thursday at the Rainbow Centre on Houghton Road.

SOCCATOTS sessions are now being held at Station House Community Centre every Thursday from 1-1.45pm. The fun exercise sessions are for children who are under school age and their parents. For full details ring the centre.

A GUIDED Meditation Class is held at Thurnscoe Rainbow Centre on Houghton Road, every Monday night from 7-8pm. Admission is £2 and includes tea or coffee. Anyone interested can call in for full details. Other activities at the centre include: Luncheon Club Tuesdays and Fridays 12-2pm, Casual Art Group Wednesdays 12.30-2.30pm, Local History Group Thursdays 10am-noon.

THURNSCOE Library Readers Group meet on the first Monday in the month from 10am-noon.

AFTERNOON Tea Dances are being held at St Hilda’s Community Hall fortnightly on Wednesdays from 2-4pm. Admission £1.50 including the tea.
