WOMBWELL

WOMBWELL folk can now use a kerbside plastic bottles recycling service run by the Council. The service accepts plastic bottles used to contain: milk, pop, water, bleach, detergent, shampoo, fabric conditioner, sun tan lotion. Householders are urged not to put out bottles until they have received an information leaflet through their letterbox.

BARNSLEY East MP Michael Dugher will hold a surgery on Saturday, April 16, from 10-11am at Wombwell Operatic Society, George Street.

CHANGES to Barnsley Council’s payments service are in force, with a service no longer available at Wombwell Town Hall. People are advised to set up a direct debit, pay online at www.barnsley.gov.uk/paying-for-a-service via the automated telephone payments service on 01226 779 397, or by using Allpay Cards at retail outlets and post offices.

BOLTON

MRS JEAN Hayes, who is a resident at Dearne Valley Care Centre, will celebrate her 79th birthday tomorrow (Friday). Mrs Brenda Nettleton will celebrate her 85th birthday on April 21.

AN EASTER party with entertainment will be held for residents and their families at Dearne Valley Care Centre from 2.30pm on April 21. On April 29 there will be a party to celebrate the Royal Wedding.

A SUMMER fair will be held at Bolton Hall Nursing Home on July 16 and anyone wishing to have a stall at the event should contact Donna on 01709 881456. An Easter Bonnet Party will be held on April 21.

CUDWORTH

A JOINT concert by Cudworth and Barnsley Male Voice Choirs will be held at Wesley Hall on Saturday at 7pm, admission £4.

A LENT Lunch of bread and cheese is being served in the Parish Rooms at Cudworth St John The Baptist Church every Friday from noon, proceeds for Let The Children Live. Work will begin on the new church hall on May 2.

A NEWCOMERS supper night will be held at Grimethorpe Pentecostal Church on Friday at 7.30pm. On Wednesday, April 27, there will be a church outing to the Wetherby Whaler at Wakefield.
