yOUNG dancers have stepped up to a performance with a royal connection.

Performers from the Scawsby-based Jackie Everton Dance and Stage School went to London as part of a national dance event.

A total of 35 dancers aged from six to 14 took part in the show at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Haymarket - usually the home to The Phanton of the Opera.

Dancers were invited to perform two routines and opted for a Me and My Girl medley dressed as Pearly Kings and Queens and a CanCan and Grease combination.

Teacher Jackie Everton said: “The compere was someone in Phantom and did a really good job so everyone was really pleased to meet him.

“We spent all the day in the theatre rehearsing and the friends and family went out to spend the day in London, coming back at the end to see the show.

“And we have had a really nice letter from the organsisers afterwards.”
