Crowle man organises charity golf event

TICKETS are available for a charity golf day which is being organised by Crowle man Paul Hope.

The 55-year-old has raised almost £28,000 for the cancer ward at Scunthorpe General Hospital via his annual Pink Balls which started in 2007.

Paul’s wife, Diane, died of breast cancer when she was 48 and her sister passed away earlier this year after she too lost her battle with the disease at the age of 55.

The retired firefighter is now promoting a sporting charity event at The Forest Pines Golf Resort, near Brigg, on Monday, May 28.

Funds will go towards the cancer ward and the event starts at 11.30am with a welcome including coffee and bacon rolls.

There will be 18 holes of golf plus a rolling hot and cold buffet throughout the day.

The day will also feature several sporting challenges, including nearest the pin, champagne putt and longest drive.

There is also a four hole hit or miss challenge which costs £5 per person and this includes a raffle.

Tickets for the actual event cost £50 per person, teams of four cost £200.

All money must be received by April 27 and all cheques should be made payable to ‘P Hope Di’s Fund’.
