Detectives investigating a suspected murder are believe a bike may hold a clue to the investigation.

Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a distinctive mountain bike that was they believe was taken at time of the incident.

Adan Szurgocinski, 26, was found at an address in Jubilee Road, Wheatley, at 9.20am on Sunday, September 14, suffering from a serious neck injury. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

Det Ch Insp Sean Middleton said: “We really need the public’s help in finding this bike. It is a Boardman mountain bike with a white frame and blue forks which we believe was at the property where Mr Szurgocinski was found.

“It may be that someone has recently purchased it or has been approached by someone offering to sell it. We are asking that anyone who thinks they have seen this bike to come forward as it may hold vital information to help us with the investigation.

“Mr Szurgocinski lived in Doncaster and worked locally and sadly leaves behind a young son and partner. If anyone thinks they have seen this bike, please call our dedicated incident line on 01709 443544.”

Four men have so far been arrested on suspicion of murder and have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
