NEW crime and justice measures announced by the Government have been welcomed by Isle MP Andrew Percy.
The reforms will see offenders face tougher punishments, with victims’ rights given first priority.
Proposals include community sentences so that all offenders take part in meaningful punishments,
There is also a new offence, carrying a life sentence, for middlemen who supply firearms and also included are new powers for communities to restrict the sale of alcohol in the early hours,
It is also proposed to roll out the use of the payment by results model across the prison service.
