A Doncaster teenager has been placed under supervision for the next two-and-a-half years after being convicted of a sex offence.
The 16-year-old denied a charge of sexually touching a boy of seven at an address in Tickhill last summer but was found guilty after a trial by District Judge Jonathan Bennett at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court.
The offence took place while the defendant, 15 at the time, was playing with the boy and his 11-year-old brother.
The younger child, who gave evidence to the court by video link, told his mother what had happened the same night when he was being bathed.
After reading a pre-sentence report, the District Judge imposed a 30-months youth rehabilitation order, with supervision.
The teenager was also placed under curfew at his Bentley home for the next eight weeks and the court issued a restraining order to prevent him having any contact with the victim and his mother.
