Rotherham police officer charged with possessing indecent images of children

A police officer from Rotherham will appear in court tomorrow charged with 16 counts of possessing indecent images of children.

PC Lee Lucas, 38, has been served with a summons to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.

PC Lucas, who was based in Rotherham, has been suspended from his duties as the investigation continues.

A spokesman from South Yorkshire Police said: “This is the result of an internal investigation by the force’s Professional Standards Department supervised by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.”
