Detectives have launched an investigation to find a group of thieves responsible for stealing a quantity of Crown Derby pottery from a Doncaster home.

The burglary is believed to have taken place between 5.30pm and 6.50pm on Saturday, October 31, when persons unknown are believed to have gained entry to a property in Millcroft, Stainforth, by taking out a panel from the rear door.

The house was searched, leaving it untidy and damaged, before a quantity of Crown Derby pottery, believed to be worth around £8,000, was taken.

Officers have today launched a witness appeal, urging anyone who may have witnessed the burglary or have seen any suspicious activity in the area on October 31 to contact them.

Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who may have been offered the pottery.
