Extra police officers are patrolling Thurcroft this week in a crackdown on anti-socal behaviour.

They have been deployed to the area following a number of calls to South Yorkshire Police and Rotherham Council.

Officers are using Dispersal Order powers to tackle anyone caught causing a nuisance or who they believe may become embroiled in anti-social behaviour.

Sergeant Sharon Hulley, of Rother Valley West Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We understand the effect it can have on residents when people act antisocially in an area, and with this Dispersal Order we will be able to offer a swift respite for communities.

“I hope this order sends out a clear message to those choosing to behave in this manner that it will not be tolerated and we will continue to take action.”
