Railway police are trying to identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of suitcase from a train travelling between Doncaster and Wakefield.
They have released an image of a man who they believe may have information which can assist the investigation into the theft which took place on Friday, March 21.
PC Gary Reader, the investigating officer, said: “A man boarded the 13.35 London King’s Cross to Leeds service at Doncaster and sat down. Just prior to the train arriving into Wakefield the man removed a suitcase from the luggage rack in the vestibule area of coach B on the service and left the train at Wakefield with the bag.
“When the train arrived into Leeds, the victim, a 39-year-old woman from London, realised her suitcase, which contained a number of personal items including a mini iPad, was missing and contacted police.
“If you recognise the man pictured, who was wearing a distinctive ‘Blur’ branded hooded jumper with the words ‘California’ across the front, then please contact us.”
