POLICE are trying to locate the owner of a stolen distinctive silver goblet which was sold to a town centre jewellery shop.

Staff at the shop in Printing Office Street, Doncaster town centre, bought the sterling silver goblet as well as other items from a man on Monday.

Later that day they contacted police because they suspected some items may have been stolen.

The goblet has a name engraved on the back. Officers believe it could hold sentimental value to the owner.

Anyone who believes this item may be theirs, or they know who it may belong to, is asked to contact the police on 101 and quote property reference number DONC63572.
